4. Using lithium grease or similar product, grease the caliper slides and the bolts. Apply disc brake grease to the anti-squeal shims.5. Install and tighten the bolts. Using a torque wrench, torque the bolts to 25 foot/pounds. Reconnect the brake line hose to the caliper. Add brake fluid.


Install the pads and shims. Seat the caliper back into position. Install the Reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery. Start the Highlander and pump the brake pedal 3 to 4 times to seat the brake pads.


6. Drive the Toyota Highlander at slow-to-moderate speeds to make sure that the maintenance was performed correctly.
