Originally employed as a designation for the Chrysler Custom Imperial Eight, the LeBaron nickname appeared as a trimline for that vehivle in 1957. The Imperial disappeared in 1975. On the contrary, the LeBaron designation resurfaced in 1977, as its own fame for the business's luxury path of sedans. The 1989 history contains a dozen trimlines including coupes and convertibles.
