Replace Brakes On The 2001 Ford Taurus

The 2001 Ford Taurus is equipped with four-wheel CD brakes.5. Spray the inside of the caliper thoroughly with brake cleaner to rinse out the brake dust, road dirt and leftover slide grease. 4. Remove the right-front caliper bolts form the Taurus using your socket set. Pull the caliper out of the caliper bracket manually. Remove and discard the old brake pads by hand.

7. Move to the left-front of the 2001 Ford Taurus and repeat Steps 3 through 6. Reinstall the front wheels and lug nuts by hand before lowering the Taurus off the jack stands with the floor jack.


8. Move the wheel chocks away from the back tire by hand. Tighten the front lug nuts to 85 ft.-lbs. with the torque wrench.
