Flush Brake Lines

Flush Brake Lines

Tell your partner to let you know when the brake pedal has reached the block of wood, holding it there until you close the bleeder valve.5. Tell your partner to lift his foot off the pedal, while the master cylinder fills back up. Watch the clear tube to see clear bubble free fluid draining out of the bleeder valve. Do all the other wheels in this same manner.

Instructions

1. Press on the brake pedal. Determine how far the brake pedal goes down with a normal press and put a block of wood under the brake pedal to prevent it from going down further than normal.

2. Locate the wheel cyliner. It is usually the right rear wheel, farthest from the master cylinder. Use a 10mm box wrench and apply the clear tube that came with the bleeder kit to the bleeder valve. Feed the clear tube into a collection container that is on the floor.

3. Clean the outside of the master cylinder with a cloth and remove the cap while laying underneath the vehicle. Use a clean turkey baster or medical syringe to remove half of the old brake fluid from the master cylinder.

4. Tell your partner to push down on the brake pedal while you open up the bleeder valve.Maintaining the brakes on your vehicle is one of the most critical perpetuation tasks you can perform. The brake fluid controls how quickly your brakes respond when you press down on the brake pedal. Periodically flushing out and replacing old, contaminated brake fluid with clean fluid will prolong the life of your brakes and ensure their proper functioning.

6. Fill the master cylinder with brake fluid to capacity when you are finished with the procedure.
