If air is heard hissing from the tailpipe, this indicates a leaking exhaust valve. If air is heard coming out of the intake manifold, this means you have a leaking intake valve. The piston is at top dead center when it stops moving up and just begins to move downwards, and both valves are closed.4. Locate the appropriate-sized spark plug adapter and attach it to the testing hose on the leak down tester.
