New Camaro V6 Specifications

Five changed engine and trim flat combinations are offered for the just out 2011 Camaro.


The new Camaro made its debut in 2010. The Camaro is offered in three different V6, and two different V8, versions for the 2011 model year. The V6 options are the LS, 1LT and 2LT. After eight years out of production, the new Camaro came back with a retro look that can be attributed to the first generation Camaros of the late 1960s. The new Camaro gained fame and notoriety from its appearance as the car that transforms into Bumble Bee in the hit movie, "Transformers."


Engine


The engine that is offered in the 2011 V6 Camaros is a 3.6 liter, 217 cubic-inch, six-cylinder engine. Heated mirrors, an auto-dimming review mirror, heads-up display, more gauges and leather interior with heated front seats is also included on the 2LT V6 Camaro.

Dimensions

Weighing 3,780 pounds, the 2011 Camaro is 15.87 feet long with a wheelbase of 9.36 feet. It is 4.52 feet tall and 6.29 feet wide.


Transmission and Axle Components


All three V6 Camaros come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and a 3.27-to-1 rear end gear ratio. A six-speed automatic transmission is also available. The front suspension is a multi-link strut, while the rear suspension is a 4.5 independent linked axle. These are rear-wheel drive vehicles. All-wheel anti-lock brakes are included on all V6s. Stability and traction control systems are also installed on all 2011 V6 Camaros. Heritage steel 18-inch rims were put on the LS version of the V6 Camaro. Painted aluminum 18-inch rims are used on the 1LT version, while 19-inch aluminum wheels, painted bright silver, are used on the 2LT.


Standard Features


The LS V6 Camaro comes with cruise control, keyless entry, automatic headlights, OnStar and front seats with four-way manual and power recline controls. A telescoping steering wheel with tilt also comes standard. A six-speaker CD stereo system comes in the LS with an auxiliary jack and satellite radio. Fog lights and eight-way manual front seat controls are added to the 1LT package in addition to the Convenience and Connectivity package. This package provides the 1LT with Bluetooth, iPod interface, rear parking sensors, remote start and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with built in audio controls. The 2LT includes a Boston Acoustic stereo with nine speakers. The horsepower rating for all three Camaros is 312 at 6,400 revolutions per minute. It has 278 foot-pounds of torque at 5,200 rpm. The maximum horsepower is 6,500 rpm and the maximum torque is 5,100 rpm. Zero to 60 miles per hour can be accomplished in 6.1 seconds.



The fuel tank holds 19 gallons of gas. EPA-estimated fuel economy for this car is 17 miles per gallon in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
