Set the replacement alternator in the engine bracket and bolt it in place, using the factory hardware and the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.4. Unplug the wiring harness from the alternator at the duplicate duration.


2. Use the 1/2-inch ratchet, extension and socket on the tensioner pulley and pivot it to release the tension on the drive belt. Take the drive belt off of the alternator.


3. Unbolt the alternator from the engine brackets, using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Pull out the alternator and set it to the side.1. Disconnect the actual terminal from the battery, using an open-end wrench. Then unbolt the battery cable from the alternator using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.



5. Reconnect the battery cable to the alternator and to the battery cable, using an open-end wrench. Then plug in the alternator wiring harness. Start the vehicle and let it run for 10 minutes, with your eye on the voltage gauge. If it stays steady at just under 14 volts, then the job was done correctly.
