Blend Gelcoat

1. Pour a minor immensity of your gelcoat into a paper Mug and add a rare drops of liquid colour pigment (enjoy track of how many drops you applicability so you can reproduce the colour that you comparable elite). Try new color blends and test them using this method until you have developed a pigment recipe that produces your desired color once dried. This process relies on how well you are able to see the differences in color and may take a few attempts to perfect.


4.2. Stir your pigments into the gelcoat with a popsicle stick and apply a gloved finger to handle a mini smear of your compound to the body in an area that has been prepped with sandpaper. Once this dries completely it will show its true final color.3.


Run the stick down the side and scrape the bottom of the cup to color all the gelcoat. Compare your large project-sized batch to the color of your most successful test batch to double check your blend.


6. Read the directions on the gelcoat bottle for a guide to proper activation. Your pigmented gelcoat is now ready to be activated with any MEKP hardening catalyst and applied to a prepared surface according to these specific product instructions.
