Change An Oxygen Sensor On The 2000 F150

A vehicle's O2 sensor keeps track of right how yet O2 is unburned in the exhaust as it exits the engine. Loosen the oxygen sensor using a socket wrench with oxygen sensor socket. If you prefer, you can also use a 22mm socket. Continue to loosen the sensor by turning the wrench counterclockwise.

1. Corner the F150 in grassland and avow the vehicle to frore for 15 minutes. The engine and oxygen sensor Testament be warm to touch, which is ideal for replacing the sensor.

2. Open the hood and locate the exhaust manifold. Have the F150 owner's manual nearby for a reference. Locate the oxygen sensor, located directly on top of the exhaust manifold.

3. The sensor then relays the indication to the machine, which tells the action to avail bounteous or less O2. This is essential in that as the fuel brew enters the engine of the F150, it regulates the engine performance and emissions. Replacing a defective or failing O2 sensor is crucial to the drivability, longevity and Gauze consumption of your F150.

Instructions

Remove the sensor by gently pulling it out of place.

4. Insert the new oxygen sensor into place by plugging it into the connector located on the exhaust manifold. Close the hood of the F150.
