Any blast created by the switch can be amplified by housing the relay in an empty room remain the sprint, which is where most relays are positioned. Reducing or eliminating the clang requires wrapping the switch with sound-proofing counsel. Most Impalas position the noisy relay directly last the left centre of the instrument panel mounted to the firewall.

Most Impalas are laid out so that you should be able to arrive the relay by reaching up from beneath the dash into the back of the instrument panel. Newer models may require that you remove the instrument panel to access the relay. You will have to remove the lower dash panels first to remove the instrument panel.

Secure the material to the switch with electrical tape. You may need to tape the material to the firewall over the switch. Add as many layers as you feel necessary.

5. Reinstall any dash or trim panels you removed.
