Basic options such as competency door locks, windows and mirrors were average on the 2007 Ford Mustang convertible. So were features such as remote keyless entry and a CD player. However, there were several options available for the 2007 Mustang convertible. Some of these options were available in an option package only.
Automatic Transmission
The 2007 Mustang convertible comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission. However, the four-speed automatic transmission was available as a standalone option for $995.
Side Airbags
The 2007 Mustang convertible came with standard dual-front airbags, which means the car had one airbag on each side of the dashboard. However, one could purchase the optional side airbags for $380. These airbags can improve side-impact safety. They are mounted in the side of the front seats.
Leather Upholstery
The Mustang's standard upholstery was cloth, but leather was available for $695. The 2007 Mustang's leather upholstery is partially vinyl, according to Motortrend.com.
Sport Appearance Option Package
The 2007 Mustang convertible's sport appearance package was an interior appearance package. It included a leather-wrapped steering wheel rim, special "sport" pedals and a "bright" shift lever. The sport appearance package cost $345.
Traction Control Option Package
The 2007 Ford Mustang convertible did not come standard with traction control or anti-lock brakes. However, these two important safety options were available with the traction control option package.The CD was replaced with a unit that reads MP3 disks. The Shaker system's CD player was also a six-disk unit rather than a single disk unit. It came with a remote control and cost $695.
There also was an exterior sport appearance package. This option package cost $295 and included a side-stripe decal and a rear spoiler.
Shaker Stereo Option Package
The Shaker brand stereo option package upgraded the Mustang convertible's base sound system.The package also included electronic brake distribution and cost $775.
