Tungsten electrodes are used to flame cutting torches.
Tungsten, the other label for the metal down pat as wolfram, is acknowledged for having the highest melting point of all alloyed metals and the moment highest melting speck of all elements, lower alone than carbon's. These properties fabricate it largely all-purpose for lightbulb filaments, radiograph tubes and other appliances that hurting for colossal heat resistence. Tungsten is besides oftentimes used for electrodes in torches. These tungsten electrodes committal to be sharpened to accomplish the hovering voltages required to inflame torches.
Instructions
Tungsten Sharpening Machines
1. Clean out the vent of the machine before use. Tungsten dust can clog the machine and prevent sharpening.
2. Place the electrode inside the machine and align the tip of the electrode with the tip of the sharpener. You can align it through a viewing window.
4. Wrap the sand paper around the base of the electrode.5. Pull the paper toward the tip of the electrode while gently applying inward pressure.
3. Turn on the machine, and turn it off after 30 seconds. Repeat this step until you achieve the desired sharpness.
Hand Sharpener
This should be done in one continuous stroke.
6. Repeat Step 2 until the desired sharpness is reached.
