When the engine fluorescent on your VW comes on, it way that either accepted continuation is required, or there is an electrical-component-related crunch with your vehicle. Instructions
1. Open the fuse panel cover underneath the steering column cover. Turn the knob on the fuse cover counterclockwise to unlock it and pull the fuse cover off the fuse panel.
2. Locate the port for the OBD tool. There is only one port large enough to accommodate the OBD tool on the fuse panel.

Turn the ignition key to the "II" position. Wait for the ODB computer to send a signal to the OBD tool. A code will be generated on the display screen of the OBD tool.
