Door Panel Removal
1. Open the door that you wish to remove the door panel from. Position the window crank handle straight upward, so that the knob is facing the top of the door panel. Remove the window crank handle by inserting a rag straight downward between the handle and door panel.6. Install the two forward panel mounting screws, and tighten them snug with your Phillips screwdriver. Install the triangular bezel piece on the front upper part of the door, by hand.
Remove the screw from the center of the door puller handle, using a Phillip screwdriver. Insert a flat-head screwdriver between the forward facing end of the power window switch panel, and the door puller handle. Pry the switch panel up gently to release it from the door panel. Pull the switch panel up and forward to remove it. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear of the switch panel by hand.
3. Remove the door handle from the panel, by inserting a flat-head screwdriver into the panel, from the rear toward the front of the car. Disconnect the door handle from the two link rods, by pushing the locking clips off of the rod with your screwdriver. Pull the rods upward and out of the loops in the pivoting ends of the link clips. Remove the door handle.
4. Remove the small triangular bezel plate from the top front of the door, using a flat-head screwdriver. Remove the two forward door panel mounting screws, and the three bottom screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Insert a flat-head screwdriver between the door frame and door panel, and pry gently to remove the door panel from the trim clips. Pull the door panel upward and out of the upper door frame. Remove the door panel from the door.

5. Install the door panel onto the door frame, and push it downward into position over the door. Push the door panel onto the body clips of the door frame by hand. Use a rubber mallet to set the panel onto the clips if needed.
Pull the rag slightly, to release the crank handle fastener. Pull the window crank handle off of the regulator stem. If your Elantra has power windows, skip this step and proceed to Step 2.2. Place the door handle near the door with one hand. Insert the door rod clips onto the door rods. Use a screwdriver to push the clips onto the rods, if needed. Insert the door handle into the door panel at the top of the handle first, then push the handle the rest of the way into the door panel.
7. Install the electrical connectors onto the rear of the window switch plate by hand, if equipped. Install the side view mirror trim piece onto the upper front of the door panel. Push the triangular piece in place until it clicks and locks to the door frame. If your Elantra has manual windows, skip this step and proceed to step 4.
8. Install the window crank handle onto the regulator knob by hand. Push the handle onto the splines of the knob until it clicks and locks onto the knob. If your Elantra has power windows, skip this step and proceed to step 5.
9. Install the window switch plate into the door handle vertically. Insert the center screw and tighten it snug with your Phillips screwdriver. Install the door panel mounting screws around the perimeter of the door, and tighten them snug with the Philips screwdriver.
