Locate the muffler hanger supporting the body of the muffler at the rear. Remove the bolt from the bracket on the muffler with a socket and ratchet. Remove the muffler from the tailpipe and front exhaust pipe by twisting it and pulling it out of both sections. Discard the old muffler.


Allot the clamps on either end of the muffler. Remove the clamps from the input and output pipes on the Jeep, using a wrench or socket and ratchet to loosen the bolts, then slide the clamps away from the muffler.


3.1. Uplift the rear of the Jeep with a jack and foothold it on a fix of jack stands positioned under the rear suspension or frame. Fix the muffler from under the Jeep, honest last the catalytic converter, approximately three-quarters of the road back.2.

5. Slide the clamps over the connections and tighten the nuts on them with a socket and ratchet. Do not overtighten them or you will damage the exhaust pipe with the clamp.


6. Raise the rear of the Jeep off the jack stands with a jack and remove them from under the truck. Lower the Jeep to the ground. Start the Jeep and listen for any leaks around the new muffler.
