Instructions

1. Appliance a tow dolly when towing your Honda Element. The tow dolly keeps the front wheels of the car raised, enabling you to tow the car with no damage to the engine or transmission. Purchase a good-quality tow dolly if you will be towing your Element frequently. Save money and rent a tow dolly if you will be towing your Element only occasionally.

6. Once underway, stop frequently and check the wheel straps, chains, and electrical plug. Correct any problems before starting out again.

Make sure the wheel straps of the tow dolly are attached firmly at the front of the tow dolly's ramps. Unroll the wheel straps and lay them lengthwise onto the dolly's ramps. Gently drive your Honda onto the ramps and over the wheel straps. Pull ahead gently until the front wheels rest against the wheel stops. Put the car in park but do not set the parking brake.

4. Pull the wheel strap over the top of each of the front wheels. Insert the end of the strap into the ratchet and tighten until the strap is fixed firmly over the wheel with no looseness. Repeat for each front wheel.

5. Test the lights of the tow dolly before you start your trip. Have someone watch the rear of the tow dolly while you turn on the parking lights and turn signals of the towing vehicle. Correct any loose fittings or burned out bulbs. Make sure your Element is not overloaded as this may have an adverse affect on the tow dolly's handling.

2. Check the trailer towing capacity of the towing vehicle as well as its trailer hitch to ensure both are capable of handling the combined weight of the tow dolly and the Element. Hitch the tow dolly to the towing vehicle and connect the safety chains and the electrical harness to the towing vehicle.3.
