Use Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is handy anywhere that common, annealed glass would be hazardous when broken. Tempered glass is harder to rupture than annealed glass.1. Put on gloves and safety glasses to protect your hands and eyes.2. The edges and corners are the most fragile parts of tempered glass.

When it does break, tempered glass breaks into many small fragments rather than sharp, pointy shards. Working with tempered glass requires the same care that would be given to annealed glass.

Instructions

Leave the protective corner pieces on as long as possible.

3. Carry the tempered glass in an upright position.

4. When you set the tempered glass down, set it on a padded surface so that the edge is not dinged or chipped. Any damage to the edge increases the chances that the tempered glass will break without warning.

5. Remove any protective sleeves and set the piece of tempered glass into position. Secure it into place and clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
