Connect a vacuum gauge by slipping the hose onto the manifold vacuum port.4. Turn each idle mixture screw in, a 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Check the vacuum reading and keep adjusting each screw until you have attained the maximum vacuum reading.


2. Locate the manifold vacuum port centered on the back of the carburetor.


3.1. Warm the engine up to operating temperature. This will vary depending on engine, but 160 degrees' water temperature should be sufficient.



5. Reset the idle speed screw to the desired speed. According to installation instructions found on Holley's website, "continue back and forth between the tuning of the idle mixture needles and idle speed screws until little change is noticed in manifold vacuum and idle speed is correct."
