2. Loosen and remove the bolts that secure the Motor lorry Bedstead to the Motor lorry's frame. 6. Unplug and compare the fuel pump wire connexion on the Motor lorry with the connexion on the fresh fuel pump. 7. Brush the dirt away from the top of the fuel tank with an old snow brush or broom. Remove the fuel lines from the fuel pump using the ford fuel line tools.


8. Rotate the fuel pump lock ring using the brass punch and hammer to turn it. Lift the fuel pump out of the tank and into the plastic pail. Wipe up any spilled fuel with disposable shop towels. Insert the new pump into the fuel tank and reinstall the lock ring. Replace the truck bed by reversing the steps used to remove it.


1. Remove the denying terminal from the battery. Spray the threads of all the Bedstead bolts with penetrating oil and grant it to fix for assorted minutes.


Place a floor jack under the rear differential and raise the rear wheels off the ground. To support the raised truck, insert two jack stands, one under each axle tube near the wheels. Remove the filler hose from the truck bed or tank flange.


10. Spray the threads of the fuel tank straps with penetrating oil and allow the oil to penetrate the threads. If the threads are heavily corroded thread the proper size die on to the strap threads to clean them prior to removal. Loosen and remove the the fuel tank straps.


11. Place the floor jack under the tank and with help lower the tank to gain access to the top of the fuel tank. Use the Ford fuel line tools to remove the fuel lines from the fuel pump. Unplug the fuel pump and slide the fuel tank out from under the truck.


12. Clean the top of the fuel tank with an old snow brush. Tap the fuel pump lock ring using a brass punch and hammer to rotate it and unlock it. Lift the fuel pump assembly out of the tank and into the plastic pail to reduce spillage.


13. Insert the new fuel pump assembly into the the tank and replace the lock ring. Reinstall the fuel tank by reversing the steps used to remove it.
