8. Spray on color coat rim paint after letting the wheel sit for approximately 30 minutes. Keep the nozzle eight to 12 inches away from the wheel surface and apply in a back in forth motion, each paint line overlapping the other by 50 percent. Allow each coat to dry for 30 minutes before applying another coat. Spray three coats to ensure proper coverage and adequate paint thickness.
