Changing 1995 Ford Explorer Front Shocks

The 1995 Ford Explorer is equipped with shock absorbers that avail to preserve a smooth coerce. Instructions


1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front tires. Adoption a jack and lift the vehicle. Settle jack stands securely under the vehicle for extra safety. Remove the front wheels. Remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle using the jack. Ensure all lug nuts are tight before operating the vehicle.



3. Remove the retaining nuts from the lower control arm using a socket wrench. Remove the old shock from the vehicle. If necessary, compress the shock slightly to remove it.


4. Install the new shock by compressing it and placing it into the lower control arm. Tighten the nuts with a socket wrench.


5. Compress the new shock enough to slide it into the upper retaining hole and install the top nut. Tighten the top nut using a socket wrench while holding the bottom nut with an adjustable wrench.


6. Install the wheels and tighten the lug nuts using a lug wrench. Provided the vehicle is equipped with Automatic Drive Discipline, be definite it is switched off.2. Loosen and remove the top peanut of the shock with a socket wrench while holding the backside stone with an adjustable wrench.
