Switch The Radiator Inside A 1993 Saturn

The radiator seats in front of the condenser unit in the 1993 Saturn. With minor period for you to manoeuvre the radiator away of the engine compartment for replacement, regardless of your particular Saturn base, you Testament build this ball-breaker easier by disconnecting the upper radiator hose and removing the cooling fan meeting cardinal. Not all dissimilar radiators come equipped with the bleed housing and plug, nevertheless. Provided this is the process for your automobile, dwell upon to transfer the housing from the senescent radiator into the contemporary one.

Instructions

Removing the Radiator

1. Arena your Saturn on alike ground, expanded the hood and disconnect the denying (coal) battery cable, using a wrench.

2. Levy a exorbitant void pan below the radiator, directly under the extract plug.

3. Untie the condenser from the frame and tighten the mounting bolts, using the wrench.19. Connect the lower transmission cooler line to the radiator, if your Saturn model is equipped with an automatic transmission, using the flare wrench.

Squeeze the tabs of the spring clamp, holding the upper radiator hose to the radiator becoming, and slide the clamp absent from the radiator, using a team of rib Seam pliers. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator becoming, by help.

6. Disconnect the upper transmission cooler contour from the radiator, whether your Saturn mould is equipped with an automatic transmission, using a glowing wrench. Plug the cooler limit with a abundance of Disinfected plastic period and a rubber band to grasp dust and grease off the contour opening.

7. Unfasten the two upper mounting bolts from the cooling fan meeting, using a ratchet, ratchet time and socket. Lift the fan meeting conscientious Sufficiently to arrive the fan electrical connector, then unplug it. Remove the fan meeting from the engine compartment.

8. Disconnect the lower radiator hose as described in system 5.

Unfasten the two mounting bolts holding the condenser to the radiator, using a wrench. Tie the condenser to the frame with wire to stable the unit in country.13.

11. Disconnect the lower transmission cooler column from the radiator, provided your Saturn mould is equipped with an automatic transmission, using a illumination wrench. Plug the cooler column with a quota of Disinfected plastic leaf and a rubber band to conduct dust and grease off the string opening.

12.9. Jack up the front of your machine, using a floor jack, and foothold it on jack stands.10. Prompt under the vehicle and remove the splash shield from the front of the engine block, using a ratchet, ratchet interval and socket.

Remove the radiator mounting bolts and brackets, using a wrench and a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket.

14. Lift the radiator from the engine compartment.

Installing the New Radiator

15. Transfer the empty plug housing from the aged radiator to the new radiator, if necessary. Squeeze the housing tabs close with a pair or slip joint pliers, then pull the housing straight out of the radiator bore. With the tabs slightly squeezed, install the drain plug housing into the new radiator hole, then push the housing in until the tabs snap in place.

16. Position the new radiator in place in the engine compartment.

17.Tighten the radiator mounting bolts, using the wrench and ratchet, ratchet extension and socket.

18. Regulate the filter plug by participation and let the coolant empty from the radiator, then store the coolant in a defended levy for following recycling.4. Unplug the temperature sensor electrical connector from the air intake ducts and remove the intake ducts and cleaner housing, using a Phillips screwdriver and ratchet, ratchet extent and socket.5.

20. Install the splash shield under the engine compartment using the ratchet, ratchet extension and socket.

21. Lower your Saturn to the ground, using the floor jack.

22. Connect the lower radiator hose and install the spring clamp, using the rib joint pliers.

23. Position the cooling fan assembly on the engine compartment and plug the electrical connector. Carefully lower the assembly in place and make sure it seats on the lower mounting clips. Tighten the two upper mounting bolts, using the ratchet, ratchet extension and socket.

24. Connect the upper transmission cooler line to the radiator, if your Saturn model is equipped with an automatic transmission, using the flare wrench.

25. Connect the upper radiator hose and install the spring clamp, using the rib joint pliers.

26

Install the cleaner housing and air intake ducts, using the Phillips screwdriver and ratchet, ratchet extension and socket. Plug the temperature sensor electrical connector onto the air intake ducts.

27

Make sure the radiator drain plug is closed and refill the radiator with a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water.

28

Check for coolant leaks at the radiator hose fittings.

29

Connect the negative (black) battery cable, using the wrench.
