Switch The Belt On The Nissan Mission

Transform the Cestuses on a Nissan Adventure


The Nissan Journey representation vehicles come equipped with two antithetic impel belts that ride all of the front engine accessories. The basic band controls the ability steering pump, moisten pump and the alternator. The moment sash controls the air conditioner. The crankshaft pulley drives both belts. As the belts turn sorrounding Everyone pulley, they enable Everyone embellishment to function. Two seperate adjustable loafer pulleys tension both belts. Whether these belts convert damaged, moderate them away before they tear.


Instructions


Replacing the Top Drive Belt


1. Hoist the hood and secure it with the locking rod attachment so that it does not fall.


2. Fix the region that needs changing. The top sash is attached by an adjustable loafer pulley that is located on the top centre of the engine. Loosen the bolt in the Centre of the loafer pulley with the ratchet and socket. Turn the bolt counter clockwise to loosen. Then, set the adjustable bolt at the top of the idler pulley. Turn the adjustable bolt counter clockwise with the ratchet and socket to loosen the belt. Then, pull the belt out of all of the accessory pulleys. Pull the belt around the fan blades and out of the engine compartment.


3. Match the old belt to the new belt to make sure that the new belt is the proper size. Then, slide the new belt around the fan blades and around the top pulleys. Tighten the belt by turning the adjustable bolt clockwise with the ratchet and socket. Once the belt is tight, push inward on the belt with your hand to check the tension of the belt, which should have no more than about one-half inch of slack. If the belt is too loose or too tight, adjust accordingly. Then, tighten the middle idler pulley back down tight with the ratchet and socket.


Then, pull the belt around each fan blade and out of the engine compartment. Match the old belt to the new belt to ensure that the new belt is the proper size.7.


The idler is located between the air conditioner compressor and the crankshaft pulley.


5. Loosen the bolt in the middle of the idler pulley with the ratchet and socket. Then, locate the adjustable bolt on the bottom of the idler pulley. Loosen the belt by turning the adjustable bolt counter clockwise with the ratchet and socket.


6. Pull the belt out of the accessory pulleys.

Replacing the Bottom Drive Belt

4. Locate the adjustable idler pulley for the bottom belts on the bottom side of the engine.


Route the new belt around the fan blades and around each accessory pulley. Tighten the belt by turning the adjustment bolt clockwise with the ratchet and socket. Once the belt is tight, push inward on the belt with your hand to check the tension of the belt, which should have no more than one-half inch of slack. If the belt is too tight or too loose, adjust accordingly.


8. Tighten the middle idler pulley bolt back down tight with the ratchet and socket. Inspect the belts to make sure that they are secure inside each pulley. Then, crank the Nissan Quest for about 10 seconds to completely seat the belts to the inside of the pulleys. Turn the motor off and recheck the tension on the belts with your hands. Close the hood.
